Windows Mobile being Killed by Telcos
In Australia it seems that the iPhone is being given much better data plans than Windows Mobile devices.  I am assuming this is because iPhone users are much less able to use data than through Windows Mobile, which allows tethering (Internet Sharing)

Re: Windows Mobile being Killed by Telcos

True - I find it difficult to use more than 200 MB of data on my Optus iPhone for a few reasons - the Optus network is unreliable and a bit slow at the best of times, which limits how much you use it, tethering costs another $10 a month (and hacks to allow it were disabled in the most recent firmware revision), and over the air downloads of apps is limited to 10 MB. The only way I come close is by listening to podcasts, which I rarely do anyway. Reading forums like Whirlpool, it appears rare that people manage to use up their quota (without tethering). It seems like the data is set higher because of expectations from plans overseas etc., so I think the conclusion that it's, on average, not going to cost the telcos any more than normal data plans, is probably true.
