| | Announcements Transform for CQWP | | Anonymous Coward | Hey! - I'm a real person looking to leave a useful and considered comment | I would start by checking to see if the actual @Author variable is being passed into your transform by outputting it directly in the table somewhere like this: <xsl:value-of select="@Author"/> If no luck there - do a Google on CommonViewFields and read-up about the process of making sure you have added it into list of fields by exporting your webpart, editing it, and re-importing it. Good luck, James.

| | SharePoint 2010: Some or all identity references could not be translated | | tatchison | Hey! - I'm a real person looking to leave a useful and considered comment | I found that I could not have an account specified of over 15 characters, which I believe is related to the NETBIOS limit. |
| | SharePoint 2010: Some or all identity references could not be translated | | Paul | Hey! - I'm a real person looking to leave a useful and considered comment | Setting up a lab SharePoint server and stumbled across this issue. Changed the username to less than 20 characters and all now works. Looking in AD I should have spotted this as it truncated the logon name anyway as 20 characters is the limit for backward compatability with Windows 2000 |

| | Is CO2 caused Climate Change the new WMD's? | | Joel Williams | | The homogenisation wasn't described in the article you linked, but there is often some reason to do this in statistics, especially when you have long time series. It's a shame that the chart didn't show errors in the temperature estimates in the raw and corrected data. Bear in mind that it's usually impossible to say exactly what something was at some point in time - all good charts should show errors! There's an interesting dissection of what this all means at http://wmbriggs.com/blog/?p=1459 http://wmbriggs.com/blog/?p=1462 and http://wmbriggs.com/blog/?p=1469 Yes, statistics seems like black magic to the uninitiated! |

| | Windows Mobile being Killed by Telcos | | Joel Williams | | True - I find it difficult to use more than 200 MB of data on my Optus iPhone for a few reasons - the Optus network is unreliable and a bit slow at the best of times, which limits how much you use it, tethering costs another $10 a month (and hacks to allow it were disabled in the most recent firmware revision), and over the air downloads of apps is limited to 10 MB. The only way I come close is by listening to podcasts, which I rarely do anyway. Reading forums like Whirlpool, it appears rare that people manage to use up their quota (without tethering). It seems like the data is set higher because of expectations from plans overseas etc., so I think the conclusion that it's, on average, not going to cost the telcos any more than normal data plans, is probably true. |
